Service ZONTA CLUB OF CONCORD, NH SERVICE INITIATIVES Hundreds of readers celebrated Market Days by purchasing books from the Zonta Club of Concord’s Book Sale, raising $1,402 for Merrimack Valley Day Care Service’s renovations. “Zonta’s goal is to serve women and girls,” explained Zonta Club President Karla Roth. “And it takes a community to do so. That’s why we are so honored to support Merrimack Valley Day Care. For 50 years, MVDCS has helped thousands of families prepare their children for school and for life. This contribution will help fund much-needed improvements at the center to keep it vital for decades to come.” “Over the years, our Fruit Street Center in Concord has been nearly loved to death by thousands of pre-schoolers,” added Center Director Mary Jane Wallner. “Current renovations include replacing the roof, heating system, floors, fire suppression system, and more. We’ve raised more than $400,000–but have nearly $120,000 left to go. Now $118,598, thanks to Zonta and book-buyers’ support. Many, many thanks.” If you’d like more information about how you can help sustain MVDCS’s important work for children and families, please call Mary Jane or Marianne at 603/224-1632.
